Mr. Christopher Hart, Principal

Welcome to Spring Run Elementary School and our wonderful school family. Our entire school community is dedicated and focused on providing an engaging and relevant education that prepares our students to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world. We work together with students, parents, staff and community partnerships to help our students achieve academic success.

I have been the principal of this school since July 1, 2013. Previously, I was the principal of J.A. Chalkley for six years. Before working in Chesterfield County I was an elementary school principal for three years in Wallingford, CT, an elementary school assistant principal in Lincoln, RI and an elementary classroom teacher in grades 5, 4, 2 and Kindergarten in CT and PA for thirteen years. I graduated with my administrative degree from the University of CT, my masters degree is in elementary education from Boston University and my undergraduate degree is from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, music, and travel.

At Spring Run we make decisions based on the best interests of children. We believe children need and deserve opportunities to learn and grow academically, emotionally, socially.  If you have any questions that I can help you with please contact me at 639-6352 or via email at christopher_hart@ccpsnet.net.

Sabrina Tapley, Assistant Principal

I am thrilled to be part of the Husky team as the assistant principal of Spring Run Elementary! Spring Run has an amazing community and culture, and I am so proud to be part of this family. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and believe all children are capable of success.

I have been working in public education since the early 2000s. I was an instructional designer for Marguerite Christian Elementary in Chesterfield County Public Schools, where I wore many hats but my focus was always supporting teachers and serving our children and families. I have been an instructional coach, and spent 14 years teaching in the classroom. I worked for Norfolk Public Schools and Pendergast Elementary School District in Arizona before coming back to Virginia to work in Chesterfield County Public Schools. No matter the position, my passion and purpose has always been to provide all children with rigorous, relevant education.

I grew up in Virginia Beach and earned my Bachelor's degree from Virginia Wesleyan College. I received my Master’s Degree from Old Dominion University and my Administration and Supervision Endorsement from Longwood University.

Though I am from Virginia, my family spent over seven years in Phoenix, Arizona and we still love to travel back to the desert to see dear friends. We love to travel and see new places, and we truly enjoy living in the Richmond Area. On weekends, you can find us out trying new restaurants and spending time with friends. I am also a runner and have done my fair share of races, but mostly these days you will find me running in my neighborhood whether there is rain sleet or snow.

I believe families, schools, and the community need to build strong partnerships so that we make the best decisions for our kids and ensure engaging, exceptional educational experiences for all. Do not hesitate to reach out to me at (804) 639-6352 or email me at sabrina_tapley@ccpsnet.net.
